Civil Rights Past & Present Walking Tour of Sweet Auburn

August 25, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

On this tour, we will walk through the Sweet Auburn Historic District stopping at various site linked to the civil rights movement and key links to building Black Atlanta.  At the locations we will explore the history related to equity, voting rights, and youth activism, both past and present.  Who were the people, what were the sites, and what is their significance are some of the questions we will answer.

The threads of liberation for Black people in Atlanta have deep roots and they are connected to the history of Auburn Avenue.

*****The walking tour includes a guided and supported walking tour, a beverage at a local business and cultural stop.  I will announce the stops once they are confirmed.
